GoMA. Easton Pearson Exhibition!
A survey exhibition of the Brisbane-based, internationally acclaimed fashion house Easton Pearson, which this year celebrates its twentieth anniversary, will open at the Gallery of Modern Art. The exhibition will feature designs drawn from Easton Pearson’s own archive, and will explore the designers’ eclectic sources of inspiration and the edgy glamour, exquisitely embellished fabrics and vibrant colours that have made them one of Australia’s most successful design teams.
The exhibition catalogue explores Easton Pearson’s collaborations with contemporary artists and artisans, and acknowledges the designers’ interest in a range of historical precursors in art history, dress history and other cultural forms. Featuring essays by internationally renowned fashion writer Peter McNeil; fashion commentator, stylist, writer and curator Jane de Teliga; and Gallery curators Miranda Wallace and Francis Parker.
The exhibition runs until the 8th of November, and is held in the Foyer Cabinet and Gallery 1.0
Lucas.
